My friends, kimi and yumiko are organizing this event for fund raising for Japanese earthquake disaster this coming Sunday.
Cream will also donate some tees for this event;))

‘It’s been more than 2 months since Japan was hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami.
Although there will be a long long way for recovery, media attention and people’s concern for the disaster have been decreasing.
International fashion model Tao brought her friends in the fashion industry to gather a charity bazaar to show their support and encourage victims in Japan.
All sales will be donated to Peace WInds Japan ( http://www.peace-winds.org/en/ )’

Dear Friends and Family,

As most of you know there was a powerful earthquake measuring 9M that struck northern Japan on March 11.

My family and friends in Japan are all safe at this point, but they are afraid that radiation from the nuclear plants may possibly be coming towards them.

At the nuclear facilities in Fukushima, even though they were shut down right when the earthquake occured, the cooling system and methods they have tried have not been working well and the heat of what was left has nowhere to go but exploding/melting the wall. It is going to be way smaller damage and much less radiation spread compared to the Chernobyl accident, but this is causing a limitation of electricity/energy when Japan depends on almost 30% of nuclear power for the entire country’s supply.

In Tokyo most of the supermarkets are empty from people rushing to buy food and supplies for survival. In Kobe far away from the area where the tsunami hit my aunt could not find flash lights and batteries in any stores which she was trying to send to her sons living in the area where electricity restrictions will happen. The news is not showing this here because it is not necessary relevant outside of Japan, but they also are not showing it in Japan so people do not panic. Unfortunately, that is too late as they clearly are in panic mode and full of shock.

One lady who survived said she doesn’t know if she wants to live in what is now an empty field where there used to be a village.
Other people who’s houses are all swept away say “I cannot find words to speak, but there is no choice other than us trying to build again even if it’s little by little by the people who are here,” which shows how much Japanese people are not used to asking for help. They try to do everything themselves and this time it seems impossible.
It is going to be not only a loss of many lives but a huge blow to the Japanese economy.

I am finding a way from here in NY to see how I can do to help my country, and one of the ways is to send this email to as many people I know as possible to let you know what is actually happening over there.
I am also including a link for donations from places that I know are trustworthy.

If you can be so kind as to take some energy and money to help it would mean a lot to me.
Also please send this link to your family, friends or acquaintances.

Thank you very much,

Pizza Party!!!

Ever since this Italian Bakery “Farinella” was opened in downtown Tribeca, Cream staffs became addicted.
It’s the Roman ( not the “Napoli” style pizza as you can find anywhere now) pizza and more you chew the doe, more the taste gets into your tongue.
Super delicious pizza for free tomorrow night?!
We all must go, play classic video games in the arcade (what a cute idea..) and feel like you are a school kid again!

Our schedule seems definitely backed up a lot because of my maternity leave..

We had a photo shoot for our new collection for spring/summer 2010 last month.
The photographer is a good friend of mine slash model slash capoeiranist, Ms. Adria Bredemann
and our model is a danish beauty, a talented artist from New York, Maj Anya DeBear( her group show is coming soon. Exciting!).

The theme for the new collection is ” MONEY”.
Under the era of recession, people are forced to revalue the way of spending and what the money should be used.

Cream is eager to keep approching the themes which reflect the society and keep creating not only “cute” designs but also “something with an opinion”.

Now the look book for 2010 is live on our website.
Visit
www.cream-nyc.com
and check out our latest look for the season (finally..)!
The collection will be available online within this month!!!

It was very sweet of Ms. Claw to send my angel these outfits! I found it’s not easy to find cute, casual clothing for babies. Especially newborns.
Maybe it’s time for Cream to start kid’s line as well?!

女性グラフィティーライターの “Claw” が娘に彼女のラインの服を送ってきてくれた。子供を産んでから気がついたことだが、特に新生児用のカジュアルな可愛い服がない。
これを機に、クリームの子供服ライン乞うご期待?!

I will watch “Saturday Night Live” if he were on the show.
They are seriously thinking to make this “skinNY” into the real series! So excited.

Fat Jewがサタデーナイトライブのキャストだったら確実に面白いのに。。
このskinNYは本気でシリーズ化される予定だとか。楽しみ〜

Food Revolution

A good friend of mine sent me these books as a gift for my daughter’s birth.

I always thought “Vegan food” is the kind of food I would not wanna eat even when I’m hungry, but these books totally changed my mind.
I tried some of the recipes from these books and ate them for my breast milk to be even better quality (I do the best I can for my little angel).
Then I found out they not only worked for milk, but also how tasty they are.

Amazing books.

Refreshed Cream!

Running my own company, I was not quite sure how long I should have taken my maternity leave. Even though we’ve been working I have personally taken a step back.
After taking a few months off I found it more natural for me to get back to work when I am comfortable enough to think about business beside my angel.

I’m looking forward to have you back as a reader of this blog again!
